Project: Bling my pants

You’ll need

  • Item of clothing or pants (jeans may be too think for this project)
  • Embroidery or sewing thread in a contrasting color
  • 4mm beads in a coordinating color
  • Needle

I thought I might as well add something cute to pants I had to hem. I used embroidery floss and 4mm beads to embellish the edges of two pairs of pants I got on sale at Old Navy. I can say that they now look like they cost more than 6$ each :)

I used a blanket stitch and picked up one bead before each stitch. This is a technique I often use in my Petit Coeur hearts. Here’s a tutorial.

These silver lined beads look great on the edge of all the pockets flaps.

You could also use beads at the bottom. Because my daughter wears her pants in her boots, I thought it might be uncomfortable so I used the simple blanket stitch.

These purple-brown beads look great on the plum pants. I simply embellished the edge of both front pockets as the pants already have lacy details elsewhere.
