All Work No Crafts

Yesterday the first preview release of WordPress 2.5 RC1 came out and I was one of the first people to install it and tinker with it (as is evident in my Twitter). I love it and out of my 5 blogs, this will be the first one to be updated with the new software next week (I am waiting to read what others think.) I will put in a different theme as well, just to freshen things up for Spring.

I have been using the 45 minutes here and there I sit down to watch a TV show to knit a bit. Still making those simple moss stitch pot scrubs. They work quite well! And because the recycled ribbon yarn is made of Polyester, they do not stain like cotton.

I cleaned up my bookcase but now the living room is full of stacks of documents. I have too much paper and I am shredding anything that dates before 2005 (business papers and printouts) I have found a stack of work-related souvenirs like delivered projects (reports & DVDs), magazine and newspaper coverage and thank you/recommendation letters from former clients and employers. I used to have an encyclopedic memory but that all went to hell when I had my daughter so I’ve been scouring my documents for key names and contacts in the past 6 months.

Here’s my recycled stash! And my Louet Gem yarn from Robyn’s Nest. I have also received my spun silk and knit a little swatch. My brother is having his 3rd girl this summer and I am contemplating making her something but not sure on the size. I recently found my daughter’s first sweater from my favorite Pingouin pattern and may reverse-engineer it (can’t find the actual pattern.) More on that quest later.

Now can you tell what doesn’t fit in? (Click on the picture to see the details.)

Litterature Francaise, classiques et biographies.

I have a category for French-Canadian Literature, Biographies, Classics (mostly French), Tech (Programming) books,

Vintage books about womanhood, domesticity and sexuality but no actual category for books about sexy androids. If and when I get Alpha Squad 7: Lady Nocturne: a Tek Jansen Adventure

I will create a category in my book case for Tek books :)

Last but not least.

Hourray for Team Canada! Toronto’s Chelsea & Jasper (with my fave Viv) have made it into the finale of Project Catwalk (UK.) Seems like Jasper is the obvious choice here but I am still rooting for Viv and Chelsea… I am dying to see the next show!
