I do that when at home but the whole Xampplite/Dropbox marriage was to have an up-to-date version of Apache/MySQL so I can code in the commuter train without wifi. I use IP Scanner Lite on my iPad to see which IP my desktop has and just http://192.168.0.*:80 to see all my projects. Remember, you are editing into the Dropbox and provided the other computer is running it will update that local file in time. But *that only works if synchronizing small script files is the ONLY thing Dropbox is doing at that time*. The whole point of this is to accomplish something work-worthy on my iPad (took me a whole year!!!) and be thrifty doing it.
