As a lover of both miniatures and jewelry, I challenged myself to create something for a doll. My grandmother created a wonderful collection of Barbie clothing when I was young so I thought jewelry would add to this heirloom collection which will be passed on to my daughter one day.
This challenge also helped me focus and feel apt after a freak car accident in 2004. As you may know, extreme pain causes a loss of mobility and ability to focus. I think this project turned out great and helped me deal with the grayest of days. The additional handmade bust lets me display a different necklace every day. Now all that is left is creating a custom made jewelry box with the 12-15 most interesting pieces in the lot.
My first piece was created using leftover mending kit beads and fine flower arrangement wire. The resulting chain is extremely dainty and fluid.
